I recently discovered that dyslexic readers find it easier to distinguish words if they are printed on yellow paper. I was wondering – is it easier or harder for dyslexic readers to read on-screen? Is there a difference across type of screen – a desktop monitor as opposed to a hand held device? Maybe there is no difference. If anyone has any comments I really would be interested.
It’s standard practice at Edinburgh Napier for powerpoint presentations of lectures to have a slight tint in the background, to make them easier going for dyslexics.
Is it a yellow tint? And do non-dyslexics not see the tint?
I know it’s off the subject of dyslexia, but I thought this might be of interest: http://www.slate.com/id/2193552
I have been told in work situations that I can come across quite blunt because I speak in bullet points. Apparently. Thanks for the link!
